Chiropractic Helps Prevent Injury
Chiropractic adjustments are safe and gentle actions that help correct vertebral subluxations (a condition in which the spinal bones, or vertebrae, are incorrectly aligned). Not only do chiropractic adjustments help realign the spine, but they are an alternative to drugs and surgery. How are adjustments an all-natural alternative to drugs and surgery? By having a spine in the proper position, nerves are able to function correctly, thereby improving your body's ability to prevent injury and disease.
Your Treatment Plan Is Not A Random Schedule
Every health care facility is a little different and every patient will get a different diagnosis and treatment plan, and chiropractic is no different. Like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates, “you never know what you're gonna get." Every patient gets a unique treatment plan with the proper schedule and therapies to get that person feeling better as soon as possible. Even patients who have the same symptoms, problems, and concerns may require very different treatment plans due to a number of factors such as age and pre-existing conditions. By not following your treatment plan and missing appointments, you are essentially questioning the doctor's plan to get you feeling good.
Asking Questions Is Great
Like all health care practices, it's better to have a conversation with your doctor than to receive a lecture with each visit. We feel the same way. We welcome active participation in your care and will answer questions about your treatment or anything you could think of, related to chiropractic of course.
Chiropractic Works Best In Multiple
In the same way that getting fit or building muscle takes more than one trip to the gym, chiropractic takes more than one adjustment to see improvements (although there can be some improvement seen after one adjustment it is not very common that one adjustment alone returns a person to fully functional status). Each adjustment improves upon what was done at the last appointment. Missing your appointments can stall (or in worst cases, reverse) the improvements made by you and your doctor.
Keep Our Books On Time So You Can Be Too
Missing or skipping appointments is never a good thing. It's not good for you to miss appointments and miss out on, or possibly harm, the progress we have made in getting your spine back in order. It can affect other patients as well, since the time slot we had saved for you couldn't be used for them.
Now, this is not to say that cancellations aren't possible. We understand that things come up, but most situations are known in advance and are not last minute emergencies. And one of the worst parts about missing your appointment is that you miss your appointment, which can make you feel worse than if you had just come in the first place!
If you have any questions about your schedule or do need to change an appointment, make sure you let someone at the front desk know. We would love to help you come in at a time that works for you. We look forward to seeing you soon.
